Last spring I went to Cuba. It was through Boston University; they offered a class, taught by Pulitzer Prize winner and current Boston Globe photographer Essdras Suarez. It was the trip of a lifetime, and I relished every minute on Cuban soil. I wandered around Havana looking for interesting people, stories, angles -- looking to see Cuba in its entirety. I talked to people as best as I could (I don't speak Spanish), but singing along to a song a group of teenagers are playing on their counterfiet iPhones is a good as it could get. While we were only there for nine days, it was a chance for me to continue to push myself photographically. I am extremely proud of what I did there, and I look forward to the next time I can go back to Cuba.
